We've split this page in to a few different sections, so first of all you can see who helped us build our business from reclaimed and recycled materials. Then we've built a little bank of resources of links and info that we think are worth a little read - take a look!
You'll also find plenty in the shop - we subscribe to several magazines and will have resources available you're very, very welcome to come and use!
RESOURCES: more updates to come
ADBUSTERS
- Based in Vancouver, they're encouraging their international audience
to grab hold of the media and reclaim it from the corporate-led papers
and mags, dripping with adverts! We have a subscription so come in to
the shop and have a read.
RECYCLE THIS - We stumbled across this site whilst looking for creative things to do with the things we've now got in the shop, it's full of ideas to convert random things in to random things!
REESTORE - If you don't fancy restoring and converting bits yourself, you can pay through the nose to have someone else do it - including the £380 shopping trolley chair! Full of good ideas, the site is well worth a look.
LOCALS - Businesses and small, independent traders
Mitchell Reclamation, Oak Street: wood, sinks, marble counter tops, random brass, metal, copper...the perfect place to find everything to re-fit, avoiding the character-less re-fit kit!
Loose's, Magdalen Street: an Aladdin's cave of secondhand!
Charity shops - they're everywhere! And we've filled our shop with a smorgasboard of secondhand treats!
Robin Dauncey Pottery - local stoneware potter, Robin's supplied us with some of his finest.
The Cycling Gardener - when Josh isn't at the shop, he doubles as The Cycling Gardener! Follow the link to find out more.
Pinkworks - We spied the lovely Pinkworks pair one cold, wintry afternoon in town and now we've got some of their lovely creations for sale in the shop. Check their site to see what their cute creations are up to!
The Vintage TV & Wireless Co. - Come in to our little shop and you'll find examples of the treasures to be found at VTWC! We've an old 1950s Radio and an Imperial typewriter we use for typing-up our menu and labels. You can find old TV's, lamps, radios and other treasures from decades gone by.
Number 15 Vegetarian and Vegan Bed & Breakfast - Just up the road from us on Grange Road, is the like-minded 'Number 15' - a business run with similar ethics, from the breakfasts served to their banking provider. We recommend them highly if you've friends visiting Norwich!
